Bittinger received his MFA in 1982 from George Washington University, Washington D.C. Following graduation, he studied portraiture with Daniel Greene and John Howard Sanden in 1983.
A short list of Bittinger’s exhibitions include, the Society of Illustrators in New York, Tretykov Gallery in Moscow and Grand Central Galleries in New York.
Noteable commissions include: Dr. Henry Kissinger, co-founder of C-Span John Evans, Secretary of State James A. Baker III, Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger and an official portrait of Abraham Lincoln for the House of Representatives.
