Anderson is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America and has exhibited in the last seven national exhibitions. He has won top honors with the Oil Painters of America, the Salon International and the Open Market National (where he won Best of Show in 2004). He also won Grand Prize in International Artist magazine’s 2004 Floral Painting Challenge.

He has exhibited in numerous museum shows, including the national touring exhibition “Classical Realism: The Other Twentieth Century.” Other museum shows include “The Academic Dialogue” at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, “The American Still Life” at the Minnesota Museum of Art, and the “Equine Artists of America” at The Museum of the Horse in Lexington, Kentucky.

Articles about Anderson have appeared in The Artist’s Magazine, International Artist, Australian Artist and several other magazines. He has been featured in seven books and is author of Realistic Oil Painting Techniques (North Light Books, 1995).

Anderson received his artistic education in the traditional atelier or studio system of training under Minneapolis artist Richard Lack.
