Unrivaled virtuosity, command of expression and richness of detail.
Tift has been exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery of London Competition 10 times and shortlisted 4 times, before winning the Grand Prize in 2006. In 1994 he won the BP Travel Award for Japan and had an exhibiton of his "Sayonara Pet" series.
His work is owned by the National Portrait Gallery of London, The House of Commons and the Birmingham Museum. Notable commissions include Tony Benn, Sir Clifford Boulton and Sir Patrick Cormack of the House of Commons, Nobel Prize Laureat Murray Gell-Mann, Lord Chief Justice Woolf and author Cormac McCarthy.
Tift’s paintings have been exhibited world-wide; including London, Manchester, New York, Santa Fe, Athens, Paris, Frankfurt and a national tour of Japan.
