Reflective insightful portraits with an expressive realism.

Born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire in 1958. Jean-Paul Tibbles studied at Eastbourne College of Art.

In 2006 Tibbles exhibited two paintings at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. His painting "Cleo in the Mirror" was an award winner in the Portrait Society of America Competition in Dallas, 2006.

In 2005 Tibbles won the "Changing Faces" prize in the National Portrait Gallery Competition, for his "Cleo" series. He has exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery of London BP Portrait Competition on two occasions. Tibbles was an award winner in 2002, 2003 and 2004 Portrait Society of America Competition.

His portraits have been featured in The Artist’s Magazine and International Artist.
