Pulido studied at Syracuse University, the University of Rochester, the Brooklyn Museum Art School and the Cooper Union in New York. In 1957 she went to France on a Fulbright scholarship and studied at the Sorbonne and Le Grand Chaumier, and stayed and worked in France for 4 years. She then moved back to New York, later settling in New Hampshire where she works today.
